I think David Lynch needs to make a Twin Peaks Christmas special. Complete with special guest star Florence Henderson.

What do you think of the second season? I found the second half a bit odd.

I'm only a few episodes into the second season so far, so I can't comment on that just yet. I do know that behind the scenes however there were a few problems - David Lynch began to neglect Twin Peaks a bit for some other projects which impacted a bit on the morale of cast and crew and lead to other people in the writer/director positions to pick up the slack, ratings were beginning to dip which led them to reveal the identity of Laura Palmer's killer ahead of schedule, and of course what would be the hook after that storyline was tied up? They were hoping people would return to the show for Twin Peaks and the characters themselves, not the mystery.

It's all a pity, of what I've seen I completely love - the characters of Dale Cooper and Audrey Horne especially are great to watch - but it was a wee bit before my time so I haven't been able to re-discover it and appreciate it until now-ish.
I would have definitely eaten it up if it were to debut on TV right now (and consequently run some sort of suicide pact on it's axing :p )

I watched some of the extras on the dvd & saw that David Lynch didn't have so much input into the 2nd season much to the disappointment of the cast. He does direct the final episode which is very Lynch and so much more about the show than the rest of the season. I love Dale & Audrey too, am quite sad as to what happened to Sherilyn's character. I also really like Peggy and Sheryl Lee who played Laura & Maddy. I still need to see Fire Walk With Me. And I'm old enough to remember when it first aired ;) I think I was about 12 & loved it back then too-plus the same characters I do on my more recent viewing. It bugs me when things get successful that the creative force seems to lose interest and hands their projects onto other. Hope you enjoy the rest of it anyway :)

I've seen Fire Walk With Me before but I think I may watch it again after I finish all of season 2.

I actually do remember the show by name from when I was younger and I recalled that it was about a murdered girl, but being shy of double digits I doubt I would have understood anything that was going on, let alone the subtext and surreal themes Lynch puts into his work.

Watching it all now only makes me wish there was something like it on TV these days - not that various shows haven't tried I guess.

Nice! Did you do the gritty-border by hand or was that a brush? :)
